There was a time when every other software engineer was a Visual Basic programmer. This was so popular that companies often did not have the dearth of such programmers. Today it is obsolete. But behold, it still is popular as several legacy applications are written on them and they need maintenance. Microsoft doesn’t support this anymore. There were several websites that offer solutions for some of the most complicated Visual Basic problems. So, one doesn’t need to worry much on the non availability of support from Microsoft.
